We teach a furniture-building class at the Crucible where twelve students learn wood working and MIG welding. In ten sessions, we guide our students through the design/build process, and each student takes home a custom piece of furniture featuring hardwood and mild steel. The combinations are endless: oak, maple, ash, cherry, walnut, redwood, cedar; powder-coated steel, brushed metal, rust.. Past projects are desks, bookshelves, coffee tables, chairs, and a built-in countertop. To learn more about the class visit the Crucible website.
